This page contains official open positions and jobs (valid until the closing date) at the Institute for Beam Physics and Technology (IBPT, director: Prof. Dr. Anke-Susanne Müller) and the Chair of Accelerator Physics (Prof. Dr. Anke-Susanne Müller) at the Laboratory for Applications of Synchrotron Radiation (LAS).
Type of positions: positions are mainly in physics and engineering concerned with accelerators, ultra-fast lasers, laser plasma acceleration, high-speed and high-throughput diagnostics, their associated technologies such as THz, RF and electronics as well as in a variety of related science and technology topics. Please browse our accelerator technology platform information - ATP @ KIT - and view our recent KIT accelerator technology movie, produced by IBPT, for impressions.
Timing - Announcement of open positions: Public research and development is funded in various projects with periods of a few to several years. Some projects can last for several periods after evaluations. Announcements of successful funding to IBPT and LAS are often on very short notice by the funding agencies, employment opportunities and intended placements are often as soon as possible, while the announcement of these opportunities in various job channels can take some time (official and central KIT portal for positions: all, LAS (academic staff, in German: Akademische Mitarbeiter/innen / Ingenieure/innen (Master) (UNI/TH/TU))).
Take the initiative: If you are postdoc, physicist, or/and engineer with a background in our fields of interest and if you are interested to join our team, please do not hesitate to contact our central office at e-mail: office∂ibpt.kit.edu with your inquiry ideally containing your initiative application with possible fields of interest, availability e.g. earliest or desired starting date, and the usual accompanying materials. Our office will relay your application to the institute director and department heads. Doctoral researchers with the goal to complete a project with a PhD, please see further information below for your initiative application.
